Dear members of JHL

The Municipality of Oulu and more specifically Tilapalvelut liikelaitos is starting co-operation negotiation with labor union.

The employer is planning to outsource all the work in catering and cleaning sector to private sector.

JHL will not accept this outsourcing case in Oulu.

How will this affect your salary and benefits?

In private sector your salary is going to be smaller, working hours longer and vacation benefits are shorter.

City of Oulu is claiming that it is cheaper to outsource work and contract with private employer will be more cost effective. In reality, costs in private sector are cut by laying off all those people who have proper experience and education, because salary is about the same in private. By hiring new people, with and without education the private sector can   cut down monthly salaries by approximately 400 euros.

This case is being presented to the city government with insufficient information especially regarding your work profile, there is not much information about the small tasks that you are handling on a daily basis Those will ultimately raise the cost of work in private sector agreement.

JHL will stand up now to defend public sector work and your working places.
